Danny Nappi Clothing Designer nappiclothing.com -
Friday, July 16, 2010 By Alexis Hill
Danny Nappi Clothing is not something that just happened to happen
overnight, in fact it wasn’t even a dream much before it was a reality. This
intuitive design company happened more by chance then by choice, not to say
that Mr. Nappi himself hasn’t worked hard for it, he has; however, clothing
design has not always been his first love.
Danny grew up in Utah with a passion for racing, cars, and speed. Fashion was
never necessarily something that interested him. He’d always liked to be
different, thus altering his clothes to fit him and his unique style. It wasn’t
until others kept asking where they could get his clothing that he realized it
could be made into a business. A business that was chuck full of ups and downs,
in and outs; yet, his perseverance has paid off. A big part of his desire to
sew came from the hopeful recreation of a quilt his mother had made. When Danny
moved out, the quilt stayed and he missed it. His mother would not hand it
over, so Danny figured he’d one-up her and make his own. The quilt was made of
denim, much like his jeans.
Nappi jeans are unlike any other. Danny personally perfected the fit. He isn’t
some head honcho sitting behind a desk instructing others. He IS the brand. He
is as involved in the planning and designing as he can possibly be. This
business is raw and perhaps imperfect, but it has that simple touch that makes
in unlike any other. He cares. It’s not just about making money, it is truly
something he is passionate about and that is what sets this brand apart from
any other.
Danny’s successes may come in far and few between, yet he has had some pretty
spectacular moments in his career. Several of his pieces have been used on
television shows like CSI. Former ‘N Syncer, Lance Bass, is a huge fan of the
jeans. Many of Danny’s pieces have been featured in fashion week, yet one of
his biggest accomplishments is something more local. Danny had the honor of
designing David Archuleta’s clothing for his tour. Nappi Clothing is finally
starting to make its mark on the industry.
Danny finds the best moments of his career to be meeting people who just love
wearing his clothes. It is something not many people get to experience in this
lifetime, pure appreciation. Danny Nappi is still working hard to make his name
be known, he knows his clothing can make an impact. For all Utahans, Danny is a
great inspiration that life is bigger than just these Rocky Mountain walls.
