Police were called to Katherine Heigl’s home on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 after a neighbor complained about the level of noise coming from the premises.
The actress and her husband, Josh Kelley, were indulging in a nice dip in their hot tub, when a local resident started yelling obscenities at them. The local was telling them to keep the noise down but Heigl’s security guard called the police; explaining why Heigl and Kelley answered the door in their bathing suits. The authorities spoke with the couple, who claimed that the same neighbor had been complaining about noise from other homes around the area. There were no arrests or citations handed out that evening.
Heigl told Ryan Seacrest on his U.S. radio show: “The other night, my husband and I, we were chillin’ in the hot tub, it was just the two of us, we had just put the baby down, and it was like 8:30 p.m. at night. He starts screaming at us to go inside. I’m like, ‘I’ve had it; I’ve had enough of this. It’s ridiculous, it’s harassment and I’m calling the police.’ We called my security and they called the police and they went and talked to him and then came over and talked to us.”
Heigl reassured Seacrest that there was nothing inappropriate going on that night and that her neighbor was completely out of line. The only noise that they would have been making was the couple talked and listening to Kelley’s album. Heigl’s husband had just gotten back from his tour, and was only home for three days. The couples simply wanted an evening to themselves, but were soon interrupted by her rude neighbor.
