According to Rich Dimock’s blog, the Salvation Army is now making “cashless kettles” so that people no longer need change or cash to make donations.
This is a great idea Many shoppers in today’s world shop with no cash. They use the credit cards for convenience, and these cashless kettles are a way to make donating to a great cause.
Also, the Salvation Army has added a facebook widget, and a iphone app to make donations.
All of these new options make donations much easier for people. Now, people really don’t have an excuse for not donating. If you don’t have cash, a credit card can work. If you have a facebook, you can donate through that. And finally, if you have a smart phone, there is an app to download.
With all these new ways to donate, I do not see a reason why donations this year to the Salvation Army should not skyrocket. Do your part, and pick a way to make a donation, it does make a difference.
