As always, every year in the NFL is unique and contains amazing catches, interceptions and touchdowns. The 2010-2011 season was no different.
There were some incredible plays during the season.Week 10 brought the astounding Jacksonville Jaguars play. With the Jaguars and Texans tied 24 and with three seconds on the clock, David Gerard launched a fifty-yard Hail Mary toward the endzone. The ball was batted by several players before it was found in the hands of receiver Mike Thomas. However, the most incredible victory came in week 15. Trailing 31 to 10 in the fourth quarter, the Eagles scored 21unanswered points to tie the game at 31. With 12 seconds remaining in the game, the Giants punted the ball to DeSean Jackson who fumbled the ball, then ran for a 65-yard touchdown. He set a record for the first game-winning punt return for a touchdown. There were also other spectacular plays. Falcons defensive lineman, Kroy Biermann, batted Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme’s pass into the air, caught it, and returned it for a touchdown in week 5. In week 13 against the 49ers, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw a pass at receiver Donald driver who caught it and pushed past three defenders, jumping past the goal line to score. Eighth grader Ben Sachs said, “This season was pretty average with some nice plays in it.”
