Running with a scissors is a funny and outstanding memoir by Ausgusten Burroughs.  Each chapter is packed with funny yet strange events. One Particular chapter is the chapter called Masturbatorium. In this chapter the author, Ausgusten Burroughs, meets the psychiatrist that is soon to take him into his house. This chapter is right after Ausgusten just meets Dr. Finch. The doctor has a strange room called a Masturbatorium. Augustens main claims are about the Doctor. One major claim is that Doctor Finch was a crazy doctor who couldn’t be trusted with even a handshake. The people this chapter would be targeted to are children or adults who remember going to the doctor. This story of the author’s turns the usual weird visit to the doctor’s office into an unusual and really weird visit to the doctor. The chapter leads you to believe that the author’s main goals were to paint an image of Dr. Finch as a foundation before the chapters where he gets more familiar with the doctor.
