The Medley of Melodies

The sound of sweet, intense beats drumming into your ears. The strum of a guitar resonating into your body. The breath-taking voice that latches onto your very core. All I can do is smile and lose myself into the world of where my thoughts and feelings are as vibrant and lucid as can be.

Everyone perceives music in their own way, as I’ve observed. Some listen to break awkwardness, while others play it because that’s all they’ve known their entire life. We all have our own reasons for playing music, but mine is so much more than simply listening to ear candy. My mentality, my own mind has been engulfed in the crashing waves of music. It is what I see, breathe, and dive into from the break of dawn to the silent night. It is such a simple concept, yet more vast and wide than the world we live in.

My passion of music is something I cannot entirely grasp myself. The brutally raw emotions put into lyrics constantly pounds into my ears, day and night. The way I feel, think, and sense the culture of today is influenced and controlled by the rich sounds from my ipod. I am unable to describe the way I am moved by this; every fiber in my being is heightened to the point where I experience an eruption of melodramatic senses. I am transported to an ambience not even imaginable in this dull world. An atmosphere where music whispers into my ears when I feel calm, or screams the most erratic shrieks when I'm angry and full of terrible emotions. I become so consumed by the abstraction of music, my entire self shuts down at once, and then alter into an empty vessel, merely echoing the ideas and thoughts of the song’s soul.

Music is my threshold in which I escape to. I am always eager to hear the grand instruments conform together to create a sweet sound that makes my ears grin. I am forever fastened emotionally and physically to music. It is the greatest friend I could ask for. In other words, as a favorite band of mine, Set Your Goals, have sung, “Because when there’s no one to hear you, the music will listen.”
