As you all can tell, I am a musician. I love what I do! This year I got the fun opportunity to participate in the school musical. I won't be singing my heart out up on stage, I won't be working the lights or the sets, I will be sitting in front of the stage in the area known as the orchestra pit.
This spot is probably the most comfortable for me. I love being able to play for those that have the desire to sing and act. I love working with other musicians to show that the performing arts matter, but most of all I love doing it for myself. I have learned so much from sitting in the pit. It will surely benefit me for the rest of my life.
One thing you need to know about this year's pit. We are all your fellow classmates and teachers. This is different from the years past. This was a big step and it has been a blessing to those of us in it. It gives us a chance to really feel like a professional. This opportunity only comes once for many of us.
I am excited for opening night, and if you haven't got your tickets. The box office is open from 12-3 and you can purchase them online. Hope to see you at the show!
