Christian people play a large role in politics depending on if they are involved or not. - Google
When I say politics, the first thoughts many people have are negative. Often words like “lies”, “complicated”, or “stress” are the first things some of us think of, but is it really the politics that cause the “stress” and “hate” we feel, or is it the tension that we automatically sense when someone has different beliefs and views?
Since we live in America, and are free to express ourselves, we will run into people who believe differently than us. That is simply part of our country. As Christians and as a part of the political system, we have to know how to back up what we believe in when we run into people who believe differently then us.
Here’s the deal, I am not going to tell you how to vote in this blog or even what to believe when it comes to politics. That is not my job to tell you.
I do believe though, that Christians can change the world as it applies to politics. Politics fail when good men (and women and teens too!) refuse to do anything to change it. However, it truly succeeds when people get involved and stand for what they believe in.
So about now you’re probably saying something like, “I can’t vote at all, I’m too young.” Well that may be true. Many high school students cannot vote. However, we do have the opportunity to have a voice. Not being able to vote does not mean that we can’t contact those in office to show our support for laws or even sign petitions against things that you believe go against the morals or beliefs you have. High school students can also continue to educate themselves so that they are aware of their beliefs, of how their government works. This allows students to understand the voice that they have and will have in the future.
