Have you ever heard of a city youth council? Have you ever wondered what they do?
Well as the Youth Mayor of my city I would like to answer some of the ever popular questions.
We are service based groups. We are sponsored by our city and our city government. We host events, we perform service projects, and we often help out with the court system.
Youth council has been a great way for me to grow as an individual. I have learned so much about myself and how I work with others in the short 2 years I have been on. I have also learned that you can't pull off big events alone. It really is a team effort. Many of you may remember the flyers put up all over school for the "Teen Street Fair." This event was the largest thing we had ever really done. It was far more than lets just through this together and hope that people come. Each member really had to pull their weight. This event though it was cold and was scheduled on the big Utah vs. BYU game was a success.
I would like to invite anyone to look into joining their local youth council. It has been one of the most fun things I have been involved in in high school. It is also great for college resumes. :)
