In the 2012 United States Presidential Election, there are four candidates left that hope to earn the title as US President. There is Democrat and current President Barrack Obama, and three Republican candidates Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, and Mitt Romney. Many believe that Romney is the only chance that the Republican Party has at beating Obama in the upcoming election.

Romney, governor of Massachusetts, is running in his second presidential campaign and is pushing hard to make it a successful one. He is backed by the whole Republican Party and plans to make things how they should be when he gets into office.

The true strength of America is self-rule, and a government that answers to a free and independent people,” Romney said.

On abortion, Romney initially believed in the right of a woman to decide, before changing his position and he now opposes abortions. He believes that they should not be federally outlawed but left under the jurisdiction of state governments.

“I am pro-life. I believe that abortion is the wrong choice except in cases of incest, rape, and to save the life of the mother,” he stated

On legal immigration, Romney is a strong supporter. He believes that immigrants are a great help to our economy because many of them will accept jobs and do work that many Americans will not.

“I am a great proponent of legal immigration…many of you are living proof of the unique strength of America that is constantly renewed by new Americans. The promise of America has brought some of the world’s best and brightest to our shores,” Romney said in a 2011 speech to the Republican National Hispanic Assembly Convention in Tampa, Florida.

"I love immigration. I love legal immigrants coming into our country ... My guess is everybody in this room is a descendant of an immigrant or an immigrant himself. So we love immigration as Americans. Immigration brings us education, new cultures, ideas, innovative talent. It's wonderful to have legal immigration. I don't like illegal immigration,” Romney stated.

On gay marriage, Romney’s position has sort of flip-flopped over the course of his 18 year political career. He was supportive of the LGBT movement’s cause early in his political career, especially during his campaign for the Massachusetts Senate seat in 1994. He now says that he believes that he wants equal rights LGBT in the workforce, military, etc. He does not agree with gay marriage.

“If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will,” Romney said.
All of these things and many other things are opinions that he stands firmly behind. He will make immediate changes if elected.
Romney wants to cut taxes, lower the national debt, and basically do what everyone else says they want to do. He is determined to do this and has showed so in several interviews, speeches, and debates. You should heavily consider him when you are voting.
