Before the beginning of the 2012 season, senior quarterback and captain Brandon Bossard decided to take his talents to Eastern Michigan University.

Brandon, who plans to major in sports management, sees himself fitting in very well with the Eastern Michigan football program.

“I saw Coach English as another father figure. He could help me with my decision making like my dad. I also saw the opportunity to play early.I will be able to compete for the starting job on day one,” he said.

This year, the Warriors started out slowly, but picked up their play late in the season and currently sit at 5-5 and are in fourth place in thePAC-10.

“We could have won a few more games. We made too many mental mistakes. We’re improving though, and hopefully we will continue this hot streak,” Brandon said.

Just like the rest of the team, Brandon started slowly and has really come on strong down the stretch. According to PAC-10 website, he now has1,148 passing yards and 12 touchdowns through the air, along with 558 yards rushing and six rushing TDs.

His rushing stats are very impressive considering that was one of the weaknesses he tried to improve on coming into the season according to head coach Mr. Lepre.

If Brandon had a weakness over the years he has played for us, I would say it would be making consistent reads in our option game, but this year he has really done a good job with the option,” said Coach Lepre.

Coach Lepre sees the improvement of Brandon’s running game as a quality that will add to his success at Eastern Michigan.

“Brandon has both physical assets that the college coaches look for.  (He is) someone who will stand tall in the pocket and has the arm strength to throw the long comeback route.  He is also able to run the football.  Most college quarterbacks do one or the other well, but not both,” said Coach Lepre.

Despite his talents, Brandon still sees flaws in his game and is determined to fix those in order to be the best quarterback he can possibly be.

“As a quarterback you can always work on reading defenses, footwork, throw accuracy, decision making and you can always become a better leader,” he said.
