The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown -

Drama, action, and suspense. The Da Vinci Code is a book filled with all of these things, and more. Written by Dan Brown, this book is a suspenseful novel featuring many aspects of historical fiction.

The Da Vinci Code centers around a professor from Harvard University, Robert Langdon. He is supposed to attend a meeting with the Louvre Director in Paris, but he was found murdered in the museum. During the police investigation, a clue is left on the floor. Giving directions to the director’s granddaughter, Sophie, she and Langdon go on an adventure to find the most coveted treasure in the history of Christianity, the Holy Grail.

This quest to find the Holy Grail takes them through France, and into England. Along the way, they become seen as fugitives and the suspected murderers of Sophie’s grandfather. They also meet an overly dedicated monk, who will do anything, including murder, to find the Holy Grail.

When they are so close to completing their mission, Langdon and Sophie learn that the Holy Grail has been moved. However, at the end of the clues, they find Sophie’s long lost brother and grandmother, who she believed to be dead.

This book is a historical fiction, but not in a boring way. It is filled with action that makes will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book, and you won’t be disappointed.
