The library is currently taking steps to better student preparation for college by implementing a new program to their online database.
The new program is called Dubbed College Test Prep; this program offers a links to different test questions and practice tests, as well as certain things to study for exams such as the AP, ACT, SAT and PSAT. All the learner needs to do is follow the link on the high school web page and create a free profile to personalize the studying.
“College prep is a good way for students to study for their tests from their homes or anywhere without having to read straight from books. It will allow them to read actual test questions,” said librarian Stephanie Doak.
The preparation program is offered through the Tennessee Electronic Library, which is an archival system of online resources offered by the state to give students necessary materials to study.
Senior Katelyn Davenport said, “I hadn't heard of college prep in the library. I studied online for the ACT, but it's cool that the library is offering that.”
While the questions in the program apply to upperclassmen, freshman are also urged to begin studying for the tests as early as possible. The college prep program is open to them and anyone else wanting to be more prepared for the tests offered.
Junior Blade Campbell said, “It's a good thing to have for the school since it can help anyone wanting extra help to get ready for college.”
College test prep is now offered from the library with its main purpose designed to be a free and easy way for students to prepare themselves for the tests influential on being accepted into college.
