Power rangers and students with wacky hair roamed the halls as Snowcoming festivities continued throughout the week. Though the week was cut short by the snow, it did not stop students from showing off their school spirit.

What was supposed to be superhero day turned into a day off, as the snow and ice shut down schools all across Allegan County. However, students returned from their long weekend dressed up in all different costumes for decade’s day. On Wednesday, students were sectioned off into their class colors. Mismatched students walked in the school Thursday for wacky day. Students showed their support for the basketball team on Friday, dressing up in green and white.

Snowcoming representatives were chosen for the week. The freshmen class chose Weston Hudson and Emily Davis. Sophomore’s Amanda Onopa and Jack Weick were chosen to represent their class, and Megan Ary and Rick Parson’s were selected from the junior class.

Senior reps included: Kristen Goodwin, Brittney Hesse, Cassie Goodwin, Britni Smalla, Alishia Sterk, Angela Lauer. Cody Ablett, Chad Griffin, Matt Hillyer, Joey Mitchell, Jordan Permoda, and Eric Stevens.

The annual powder puff game on Wednesday. The junior class never showed up, giving the seniors an automatic win.

Wrapping up the week was the pep assembly. Shouts and laughter filled the gym as the Snowcoming court members played games. The senior reps played a balloon game and entertained us with Disney songs. The underclassmen showed us their bark in a game of fetch. There were also performances by the cheerleading teams and the dance team.

Spirit points were also counted. Seniors took the lead with juniors not far behind. The sophomore’s and freshmen came in 3rd and 4th places. Seniors also won the race to make the longest chain, sponsored by SADD.

The basketball team had a victorious win against Hamilton at Friday night’s game. They walked off the court with a leading score of 64-43. Winners for snowcoming king and queen were also picked Friday night. Joey Mitchell was chosen king and Angela Lauer was selected to be queen.

The annual Snowcoming dance was held Saturday night. This year’s theme was cities. Everyone looked like they were having a great time, dancing along with the DJ’s beat. It was a great way to end the week’s festivities.
