Game 1 of ALDS

LAD – CHC Final score 7-2

In bottom of the 2nd, Mark Derosa knocked out a 2 run home run to put the Cubs on top. James Loney, Manny Ramirez and Russel Martin stuck back though each with a home run. James Loney’s home run wasn’t one that happens often down 2-0 bases loaded and he knocked one out to put them on top 4-2. Later Manny bombed one out for an insurance run about 390 feet!

PHI – MIL final score 3-1

Chase Utly doubled home 2 to put the Phillies on top 2-0. Brad Lidge a remarkable closer shut them down to earn his 45th consecutive save. Double that to beat Gange’s 84! Brad Lidge came in 3-0 and quickly got one strikeout. Then Braun doubled and Fielder struck out. And the next batter walked. Corey Hart was up 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. There was a wild pitch to put runners on 2nd and 3rd but Hart flew out to keep the save streak alive for Lidge.

BOS - LAA Final score 4-1

Bay overpowers Angels to score the go ahead run on a 2 run shot in 2nd career postseason at bat. Being with the Red Sox Bay gets more fame and better postseason chances. Since he was with the Pirates that team probably wouldn’t make it to the World Series or even the playoffs. Papelbon's Postseason ERA stays at 0.00 for the night.

And, of course, we now know that the Red Sox went on to win the American League Division!

GO SOX!!
