After a 58-51 loss to the Brandon Valley Lynx this past Tuesday, the Warrior varsity girls basketball team has an opportunity to redeem themselves tonight as they host the No. 1 ranked O’Gorman Knights.

The two teams last competed less than two weeks ago as the Knights topped the Warriors 60-40 Jan. 20 at O’Gorman.

All teams are in action as play begins with the junior varsity and freshman teams tipping off at 4 p.m., followed by the sophomore game at 5:45 p.m. and varsity contest at 7:30 p.m.

Varsity coach Nate Malchow said his team is excited to take on the Knights once again.

“We expect good things tonight as O’Gorman is a very good team,” Malchow said. “This is a great opportunity for our kids to show what they can do, and we’re excited to take on the Knights.”

Malchow adds that the fan support has been great this season, and he hopes to see many fans tonight.

Freshman Kelly McKnight is looking for a great effort in all games tonight.

“I’m excited to play because we played well against O’Gorman in our first chance against them, and as long as we work hard we’ll be putting ourselves in an opportunity to do good things.”

Sophomore Amanda Farritor agrees that hard work will be the key to the game.

“All of the games will come down to taking care of the things that we can control,” Farritor said.

O’Gorman and the Warriors will tangle again on Friday at WHS, as this time the boys take the court following the same schedule.
