On October 17, 2008 Mrs. Leah Davis-Wolfert spoke about the OGT preparatory class that 10th graders must pass to graduate.
The OGT has five parts: Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science and Math. Mrs. Davis teaches a Sophomore Social Studies Seminar class to help this year's sophomores pass. She has 9 years of experience in teaching this particular subject.
Mrs. Davis has also participated in Saturday school sessions and after school tutoring, using Study Island and Concept Schools' Tests to get the students "acquainted with the information on them."
Students this year are not quite ready to take the OGT yet, but if they "take the time to study and prepare, then yes [they will be ready]," Mrs. Davis admits.
Mrs. Davis says that if students review all OGT material given in class and pass the class they can pass the test.
As incentive for her current students Mrs. Davis adds, "Good luck 10th graders, it will be very hard to top last year's class!"
