Since the year has started there was a problem with the attendance system. People were being marked absent while they were in class. The problem was that if students were late or absent for one class they were either late or absent for the rest of their classes. Many students have gotten in trouble for no reason. Not just at Skyline High School but the whole district! I've researched on this problem and found out that this was fixed not too long ago.
Why did teachers keep this away from the students? Have they fixed the problem? Or have they called those certain students, and told them whats going on? Have they talked to the students parents?
Mrs. Reyes, teacher here at skyline said, "Why are they getting you guys in trouble for something that wasn't your guys' fault." She added, "They should send a letter home letting parents know what's going on."
Mrs. Reyes has a certain group of kids she has to keep track of, as in their grades and attendance. Some of those kids have gotten in trouble cause of the attendance.
She continued, "Many kids have been coming up to me and said why do they have so many absences." she added, "I've been helping students by talking to there parents and explaining the problem."
Erick Medina is one of these students. He said, "My parents were yelling at me and saying I didn't go to class." he continued, "I had no idea what was going on! I started freaking out and talking to my teachers about it. The attendance my teachers had were better than the ones in the attendance system." he added, "Mrs. Reyes helped me a lot with talking to my parents about it. I fixed all my attendance and now my parents are happy."
If you have gotten in trouble by the attendance one of the things you should do first is talk to all your teachers and tell them to print out your attendance. That is one of the best things you should do. But just remember: always go to class
