$0Life can change in a snap of a finger, a blink of an eye oreven a flash of a camera. What started out as an average track meet turned intoa record-breaking event on April 21 when junior James White from Grandview High School broke the nationalhigh-school high-jump record, and Staley photojournalist, junior Jonny Greene, was there to capture the record-breaking moment. $0$0            “I knew therecord had been broken, so the first thing I thought was someone would want thepicture,” said Greene. $0$0            Once Greenehad called The Kansas City Star andrelayed the intriguing news, what had started out as a normal day for Greenequickly turned into a day of overwhelming phone calls. The Star published Greene’s photo online and in the paper. Thanksto a helping hand from Athletic Director Mark Mundell, Greene was able tohandle his agreements with The KansasCity Star while Mundell handled all the rest of the people who wantedaccess to the photo. However, Greene was not the only one who was juggling theexcitement and stress. $0$0            “My parentsstarted freaking out,” said Greene. “They were proud, but my mom had a hecticday having to write up a copyright agreement.”$0$0            Greene saidhe has a new found confidence when it comes to his photography skills and hasno intention of settling for just one moment in the spotlight. He said he hasreached a whole new level where the bar has been raised and his goals are evenhigher. $0$0            “I actuallythink taking pictures is easier now, because I know I can compete with thebest,” said Greene.$0$0After all the uproar of  Greene’s accomplishment had settled, he seeshis monumental photo as only the first step in his career as a successfulphotographer.  $0$0            “I thinkhaving a picture published in a national media outlet was a pretty good steptowards my future in photography,” said Greene. “But I think it’s just thebeginning.”$0
