Kim
Spradlin, daughter of Head Temple High School Football Coach Mike Spradlin, “won
the day” this past Sunday Night with her earning of the title “Soul Survivor”
on the season finale of “Survivor: One World.”
After
39 days of living in a camp on the island of Samoa, Spradlin beat out the other
17 of her fellow castaways and reigned in all but two of the nine jury votes
for winning the $1 million grand prize on the show’s live broadcast from New
York City. She was also awarded the
$100,000 as Sprint’s “Player of the Season” from accumulation of the most viewer
votes.
Often
perceived as having “dominated” the second half of the game, Spradlin managed
to secure her spot in the final three by winning four individual immunity
challenges, two of which were the final, physical competitions. She additionally found a hidden immunity idol
earlier in the game that was never put to use.
This
was the 24th season of the popular CBS reality television show that
has been airing since 2000. “Survivor:
Philippines” was announced as the show’s 25th seasonal location on
Sunday night’s finale.
The
season also made “Survivor” history as being the first instance of an
all-female final five left in the game’s course.
