I walk around
campus everyday and I then I walk through stores and other places and see how
people interact with one another. I find that the way people act in high
school, is pretty much the same as how people act in the real world with a few
minor differences.
There will always be those people that think
they are better than you, there’s still those people who will never grow up and
talk about people behind your back, and there are still those amazing people
who will always be there for you.
A common phrase that is heard all the time in high school is that “people never
change.” I completely agree with that statement. Sometimes when you meet
someone, you think he or she is the best person you have met in your life. Then
when things don’t work out, you say “they changed, I don’t know what happened”.
My question is, did that person really change? Or where they just showing you
their true selves? I find that it is usually that sometimes we are just blinded
by people’s lies.
When someone shows you who they really are, sometimes we still by-pass the
facts. It can be hard to except that what you thought was perfect, really
isn’t.
I see it in high school with friends who we say are friends but are actually
complete backstabbers. We all go through it once; usually more than once.
I wish I could say that after high school everyone becomes mature and we get
over all of our insecurities and let go of all our foolishness, but that is not
the case.
These people will always exist and you will not be able to escape them.
However, the way that we handle these situations now can help us deal with them
when they are older in the real world. It is as if high school drama were a
gift to us- to learn how to deal with difficult people when it actually counts.
