Bellbrook High School’s 2010 Junior/Senior Prom presented by the junior class of 2011 will take place at the Masonic Temple in downtown Dayton. On May 1, 2010, juniors will gather for their first prom and seniors will enjoy one last dance at BHS. The dance will take place from 8p.m. to 12 a.m. featuring this year’s theme “A Night in Paris.” Tickets for Prom will be on sale Monday, April 26 through Friday, April 30 and will cost $25 each (pre-sale only, no tickets will be sold at the door). After-Prom will be held at Bellbrook Middle School from 12:30a.m. to 4a.m. and cost will be $10 a person. After-Prom tickets can be bought pre-sale and at the door.

After Prom will include food from our own Paris Café (pizza, wings, subs, chips, desserts) and also many fun activities. There will be a hypnotist, karaoke, a caricature artist, a street magician, bungee racing, corn hole, Wii Sports and Games, and many other sports (volleyball, basketball, football toss, and basketball toss).  Money, coupons, and raffle prizes will be given away, but students are only eligible to win if they are present at After Prom. Doors will close for admission at 1:30 a.m. and once a student leaves they cannot be readmitted. Wii Systems with Wii sports, tickets to sporting events, a TV, a camera iPod touch, and other items will be given as raffle prizes.

The 2010 Senior Prom Court includes boys Austen Brower, Matt Bruggeman, Jay Bucher, Drew Ritzel, and Tyler Tatum. The senior girl nominees are Christina Martin, Alyssa Morris, Holly Phillips, Mollie Sadler, and Shelby Trejo.

Part of the prom tradition includes unique ways of asking one another to prom. A few senior girls shared the way they were asked by guys. Morgan Spicer said, “Michael Gertz made a t-shirt to put on his dog. It said ‘Prom?’ and his dog was wearing it when I came over to his house.” Whereas Shelby Trejo said, “My boyfriend Matt and I were babysitting his cousin and while I was playing with his cousin he decorated the downstairs with multiple ways of asking me to prom. Like brownies with prom written on it, a poster board and a vase filled with chocolate.” Lastly, Mollie Sadler said, “Jay wrote ‘Prom?’ on a cookie decorated for prom.” Another set of senior girls contributed by telling the ways they asked guys. Jackie Leetch said, “I made a YouTube video for my boyfriend asking him to prom.” Allison Emery commented, “I baked cupcakes and wrote prom in icing on them for my boyfriend.” Finally, Tina Shtayyeh said, “I told my boyfriend to organize Spanish note cards into a sentence saying ‘there’s a bear under your bed.’ Once he went to get the bear that held a note card saying ‘I love you’ then he turned around to look at me and I was holding a note card that said ‘Prom?’ but I was holding it upside down."
