Roseville High School held class meetings in the Patti Baker Theater to discuss rules for the 2010-2011 school year. They took place on August 16 and were led by the assistant principals, select counselors, and officer Lieberman.

According to assistant principal Matt Pipitone, the class meetings highlighted specific points in the student handbook that students may not have known otherwise.

“We wanted to clearly communicate a variety of topics,” said Pipitone. “Hopefully the meetings made students aware of things they weren’t before.”

These topics included the dress code, academic honesty, and disciplinary issues.

Counselors were available for the seniors to ask them questions regarding SATs, graduation requirements, and college applications; Officer Lieberman covered defiance issues as well as the things that are and are not allowed at school.

In the senior class meeting, administrators took time to thank seniors Remy Spandow, Caitlin Lombardi, and senior class president Alexi Johnson for their work on the senior wall before and after it was vandalized.

According to assistant principal Jason Wilson, students should have seen the class meetings as a chance to review and learn the fundamentals of the student handbook.

“Every thing we covered in the meeting was significant or we probably wouldn’t have taken the time to communicate it,” said Wilson.
