Homemade presents such as this can be the key to warming a heart this Christmas. -

Snow has started covering the town, the temperature is dropping, people are decorating their houses, and children are being extra good in order to stay off the “naughty list.” This can only mean one thing: the Christmas season is upon us.
Visiting with family that might not be around all the time, watching the snow fall, and rushing down the stairs on Christmas morning to find presents tucked under the tree, these are the priceless memories that are stored in our hearts and minds forever. With the many nice parts of Christmas, it seems that people always worry about one thing, gifts. What they will get their family and friends, how much they should spend, how much they can afford to spend? These are just a few thoughts that go into the decision making process in Christmas gift shopping.
There are a few things people should realize while fretting over ideas and prices. It is not the price that you spend on the item; it’s the amount of thought and love you put in thinking about the individual you are giving the gift to. If you were to ask my mother what her favorite presents she has received over the years were, she would take you to the tree to show you that special ornament I made her in 3rd grade, the one that has my picture included in it, or that drawing of Santa Clause that is hanging on the wall that is 10 years old. These are the kind of gifts that maintain the meaningfulness over the years. They will never get outdated by technology, or sold for extra cash.
As nice as a new 42-inch flat screen TV would be, or the latest iPod, these gifts will just not have that special meaning in 20 years.
