A red tent stood in the cafeteria Thursday drawing attention to three volunteer opportunities students could sign up for.   Events such as the tent will take place at least once a week to give students the opportunity to sign up for any of the three events.

Blood Drive

            According to the American Red Cross, one pint of blood can save up to three lives.

Through the Red Cross, SGA is running Linganore’s Blood Drive on April 9.  Students can sign up during their lunch periods or contact Logan Pomeroy at thepomfam@aol.com.

            While students are encouraged to donate, they must be 16 or older as well as pass the required weight and height limit in order to qualify.  These restrictions are in place to avoid potential health risks or issues.

            The procedure takes about ten minutes but students should prepare for a longer period of time to include the wait, medical checkup, and recovery time.
