"I didn't drop the stick, I threw it." Said Beatriz Santos, Sophomore on junior varsity track in reference to her fumble with the baton.
This past Tuesday Turner attended the district track meet, the junior varsity girls worked hard and won fifth place overall. Everyone in track attended the track meet, including junior and varsity for both boys and girls. Everyone tried their best with the support and encouragement of their team mates and coaches behind them.
"She's a strong coach," Rebecca Hernandez, sophomore on junior varsity. "She's always pushing us and she's a good motivator too."Concludes Rebecca Hernandez.
In preparation for the track meets their practices consist of working on sprints, long distance running and cliometrics to building strength and agility, as well as one of their main focuses; endurance.
"We didn't do as well as last year, but we all tried our best and in the end we are still a team." Concludes Beatriz Santos.
