2-time NL Gold Glove winner and 3-time NL MVP Albert Pujols has agreed to a 10-year, $250 million dollar with the Los Angeles Angels. Pujols, who turned down an offer from the Cardinals before the beginning of last season had options from the Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs as well as St. Louis.

The Angels, however, jumped in the mix late Wednesday night and reeled Pujols in from the Cardinals who had reportedly offered him 10-years, $220 million but is now said to have been only 9-years and less than $200 million. Pujols and the Cardinals capped of a season to remember last season, coming from 10 games back with a month to play to win the World Series. Pujols finished with a .299 batting average with 37 homeruns and 99 runs batted in. Pujols becomes only the second player in history to sign a $200+ million dollar deal joining Alex Rodriguez who had done so twice.

The deal is reported to contain a full no-trade clause which was a pulling factor for Pujols. For the first time in his carrer, Pujols will not be putting on a St. Louis Cardinals uniform when he takes the field.
