The Crusader boys varsity basketball team picked up their first win, 69-67 over Atlantic Shores, in the opening round of the Atlantic Shores Tip-Off tournament Thursday, December 1.
Senior, Pat Rice, led the team in scoring with 25 points to go along with his four steals and five assists. Senior, Marcus Burwell, recorded his second straight double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds to help lead the Crusaders to a narrow victory.
In the semi finals, on Friday, December 2, the Crusaders played against powerhouse Paul VI and were overmatched. The Crusaders lost 96-51. This loss gave the Crusaders a season record of 2-1, pitting them against Cape Henry in the third place game of the tournament. The Crusaders lost 65-43 in the contest. Once again, leading scorers for the Crusaders were Rice and Burwell.
