Pembroke High School head football coach Bob Bancroft was honored on November 29 by football Hall of Famer Andre Tippett for winning the Patriots High School coach of the week.
Bancroft received this honor by leading the Titans to a 10-0 undefeated regular season, a Patriot League Championship, Pembroke High’s first ever Thanksgiving game victory and for reaching his two-hundredth win.
Bancroft received a one-thousand dollar check for the football program for winning this award and also receives a Patriot’s hat.
The award ceremony was broadcast Friday, December 2 on Comcast Sport Network.
Tippet said “getting two-hundred wins is a great milestone and [Bancroft did] not get there by luck, he had success everywhere he went”
Bancroft was humble about his award, he said “it is not my award; it’s a team award with my name on it.” He went on to say that “it’s a combination of an incredible year and hard work from the players that made this possible.’’
