In Splendora, Texas two young kids were found living on a converted school bus, a 5 year old boy and an 11 year old girl. The school bus was converted to a RV with flat screens, computers, a deep freezer, and running hot and cold water. A postal worker spotted the kids playing in the neighborhood and noticed that they were left unattended. The postal worker contacted a friend and the friend called CPS. Come to find out, the two kids have been living on the converted bus for close to a year. The two kids parents were in jail for embezzlement and their 60 year old aunt was suppose to be looking after the kids, because she was unemployed. The aunt soon found a job that required a daily commute to Houston. While the aunt was at work neighbors claim that they would take turns looking after the children during the day and the aunt would look after the two children during night. On Wednesday, the two kids were placed in emergency foster care after being found on the converted school bus. Although the neighbors were taking turns watching the kids, under the law, occasional visits do not constitute supervision. The mother says that her and her husband were supposed to be building a house on the lot that the bus is parked on before they went to jail in December 2010. She also says that she will be out of prison in 30 days and hopes to get the situation sorted out and regain custody of her two children because this is all a big misunderstanding.
