Ever since he came into the team as a freshman Mike Kinney has been making football headlines almost every week. He has shown the ability to be versatile with his positions on the field. He has featured as a linebacker, Running back and occasionally quarterback. His contribution on the field is massive to any success that the lancers have experienced over the past few years. He is a very humble man in what he had to say about his experiences as a lancer. He said in his senior year he wanted to “have a positive impact on the kids that he was around”.  He also went on to give a message to his underclassmen team mates, which was “have fun with it, enjoy it while you have it and live in the moment”, wise words for someone who had just turned eighteen. He has received some of the highest accolades a high school football player can get. Receiving All-State honors at the linebacker position and being an ever present on the Sun Gazette dream team. He will be carrying his leadership and talents to the University of East Stroudsburg to play on their football team on a full scholarship. This is not the last time we will hear of Mike Kinney’s name being echoed around a football field.
