Junior Meghan Kirwin got the school record for track in the one mile with five minutes and 31 seconds. She made the school record at a home meet against Berkeley, Hanahan, James Island and Academic Magnet on March 23.

Junior Jennifer Johnson got the school record for track in the two mile with 12 minutes and 32 seconds. This was at the Outback Invitational in Summerville on March 19. “I was very excited to get a personal record and a school record,” Johnson said.

Senior David Newton went to Uruguay with the region soccer team on March 10-21. “We played with youth teams that were part of professional teams in South America,” Newton said.

Many students on the weightlifting team went to the strength competition in White Knoll, N.C. Sophomore Quitin Turner placed first in the 220-pound junior varsity division. Sophomore Willie Frazier placed first in the 190-pound junior varsity division. Sophomore Carlton Blake placed third in the 235-pound junior varsity division. Also, junior Templeton Tisdale placed fifth in the 260-pound varsity division. Junior Jack Heron placed sixth in the 160-pound varsity division.
