Going to school is more than just getting an education. It’s a facility which incorporates most of the aspects which we as students will face in life outside of school. However, the difference between the mundane way of life and school is that schools are more censored and “secure.” The elements which you are exposed to at school are suppose to prepare for life in the real world. These life lessons may seem futile if you don’t contemplate the message which they are trying convey to you.



Peer pressure, For example, is a life lesson which affects all students at one point or another. The lesson which peer pressure teaches us is that there is always going to be an overbearing force trying to obscure our views in order for us to comply with their wimp. It is also a test of your conviction in yourself and what you stand for in life. But the main factor of peer pressure which makes it a life lesson is the beckoning of choice. Choice is an aspect of life which we all make daily; however, most don’t realize the power of choice and what it brings.



The subjects which are taught in high school, for instance are life lessons because they open the avenue of learning about worldly subjects which can help students get ahead in life. If you look beyond the books, homework and projects will see the bigger picture which is trying to be depicted to you. School teaches about the aspects of American life as well as other ways of life and how America has allowed us to know. For example, most history text books don’t graphically or correctly label the type of slavery which occurred in America during the days of slavery. Nonetheless, the basic concept is relayed in a simplistic way.



School nonetheless, teaches life lessons in order to prepare you for life. The ways of life which we are taught in school are supplements which enrich the high school experience as well as life. However, these life lessons aren’t truly grasped till students leave high school because they don’t realize that these lessons are being instilled in them by their instructors. But by opening your mind to the reality as well as morality of lessons in school, you will be one of the few who was infected early by the life lessons in which high school as well as school in general teaches.
