Will the levies help the schools more than they hurt the families?

Levies are the only source of money that the school has. In order for the school to make adjustments for the 700+ students expected to enroll in the next three years, levies must be passed.

If only one levy passes, pay to play will resume, class sizes will increase, and bussing will be cut at the high school level," said Dr. David Baker, Superintendent for Springboro Schools. “If both levies fail, then bussing will be cut at all grade levels.

Prior to its voting, students expressed their opinions and awareness about the levy.

" I know my mom thinks that the levy should pass because my brothers have to still go to school in Springboro so we need the money," says junior Jennifer Marcum.

There are also some parents that don't want the levy to pass.

“Since I'm the only child, my parents don’t really want the levy to pass because they won't have to worry about it after I graduate, “says senior Brianna Anderson.

Since only the renewal levy passed, the buses will be cut at the high school level, class sizes will increase, and pay to participate will begin next year.
