D.A.R.E isn’t only good at teaching kids to prevent drugs and violence, but they can also put together a pretty great haunted house.
Located in the old Fred Meyer Building off Yellowstone Road, this old warehouse holds one of the best haunted houses in southeastern Idaho.
This attraction costs $8 and lasts about 15 minutes long, but when you’re in there it seems almost never ending.
However, when you’re waiting in line, the workers do an entertaining dance that gets better every year. What surprises many is the age range of these kids that work at the spook house. Chuckie (the homicidal doll) could not have been over 12 years old.
“The special effects were outstanding,” Alyx Gaudio, junior, said.
If you’re just going with you’re friends and you’re not really into the whole scaring business, here are five tips you can follow to make it through without being completely mortified.
Step one: Never, ever be in the front of your group.
Step two: Never, ever be in the back of your group.
Step three: Keep your hands to yourself. In other words, don’t let your reflexes get the best of you — even if the “zombies” scare you really bad.
Step four: Don’t look to the right and don’t look to the left.
Step five: Run fast. If you’re in for a scare or just feeling adventurous the night you go, these rules do not apply to you in any way.
If you’re bored during the weekend, go to Dr. Slaughters and get a great scare.
This amusement is open for the Halloween season, so get in there while you can.
