Miss Lauren Neidmyer has been studying baton since she was in 7th grade. She was in Majorettes all through High School. She had also taken private lessons when she was younger. She has been in the Blair, Cambria, and Indiana County Competitions. Miss Nedimyer said that the hardest are thumb tosses and three batons at the same time. She also said that the reason why she had started doing baton is because not a lot of people do it and its a lot of fun.

Although she did not perform baton in college, she came to Central and started a squad of majorettes. Even though it is just a small team she hopes that it will get bigger someday. You can tryout for the team at the end of your eighth grade year. Some of the requirements are: tosses fun around and stand step. It is also helpful if you have taken baton lessons in the past.

Miss Lauren Nedimyer makes all the routes for the Majorettes and in the summer time they practice two weeks before school starts. They come and work from 9-3 for band camp. On May 26, 2006 had Captain tryouts to help her with the routes and the team. She wishes that someday she could take the Majorettes team to the Blair County Competitions and hopefully win some trophies.

She also said that if anyone from the team would want to take private lessons then she suggest that you take them from Marcie Fickes she lives in Hollidaysburg. She teaches private lessons for baton and she is a dance teacher. Miss Lauren Nedimyer also teaches private lessons herself. She wants to keep on teaching at Central High School. She also hopes that the Majorettes keeps going in Central and they go to do great things.
