The New England Young Writers’ Conference at Bread Loaf is a four-day seminar for writers of prose and poetry. The conference allows only two applications from each high school in the New York and New England areas, and approximately 40 percent of applicants are invited to attend the conference.

Triton’s two applicants, juniors Stephanie Langevin and Elizabeth Russell, will both be attending the conference in Middlebury, Vermont from May 13th through May 16th. Langevin submitted a short story entitled “Corporate Blues,” a satire on the common office workplace, while Russell submitted a poem filled with “vivid imagery” which she calls “Not Really a Metaphor.”

Langevin and Russell will spend the three-day conference at Middlebury College in Vermont in writing workshops, listening to lectures by published authors and English professors, and meeting with their assigned writing mentor.
