You’re sitting at a desk, listening to a lecture, half asleep, watching the teacher opening and closing his mouth aimlessly while you daydream about who knows what. That is what most teens think of their teacher. But are all teachers “boring”? We have asked 75 students who they think are the funniest teachers and only the top five can be listed. As the award shows might say, “Here are the nominees for the funniest teacher!”

Tied for fourth are Mr. Mandrioli and Ms. Kleiwer. Mr. Mandrioli is the leader of ASB, and is the host for the Fun o’ Rama. He replied to us “I'd like to thank Pastor Mike, my cat. I'd like to send a hearty bit of gratitude to my homeroom: the best homeroom to not win anything in the Homeroom Competition. Actually I'd also like to thank any and all ice cream makers for their wonderful, never ending gifts to the world. And while I'm at, it I'd like to thank Mr. Graham who has a beard that's older than me.”

Ms. Kleiwer is also in fourth place. She is loved by her students. She inquired, ”Where is my diet coke?” Each of them has three nominations.

Next, in third place, is Mrs. Glass. Her students obviously admire her. She explained to us, “Thanks for thinking I'm one of the funniest teachers here at RSM! I like to make my class interesting and fun, so everyone will learn SOMETHING! Students enjoy looking at my podium to see what a "warm and fuzzy" person I am too! Students have given me stickers that are plastered all over the podium that are quite funny. Thank you for the nomination. I do consider it an honor!” She has six nominations.

The runner up for the Funniest Teacher at RSM is Mr. Giraud. He is the beloved teacher of the advanced drama class and is an English teacher. ”Funny or funny looking?” he questioned.

Finally! Drum rolls please… the one who brought endless joy to his students. The Funniest Teacher at RSM ... MR. MENDELSON!!!!!!! We asked him how he felt and he responded "This award validates all those late nights I stayed up making my lessons informative as well as entertaining. Thank you to all, and keep laughing!" Congratulations!
