CRASH! What was that? It was the crash - the crash of the stock market! As everyone knows, America’s economy is in trouble, and we are on the edge of a recession. Mr. Barack Obama, newly elected United States President, is hoping to not only help fix our economy, but to try to do everything he can to move it forward.
President Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden have formulated ideas that they believe will boost the economy and relieve the many of the financial burdens currently being forced on taxpayers. For example, they say that they will provide a tax cut for small businesses and will restore “fairness” to the tax code.
By providing a tax cut for small businesses, Obama feels reluctant entrepreneurs will be more motivated to explore their plans to open a small business. Because they will not have to pay as much in taxes, they will probably create new businesses. If people create more businesses, they will make more money, thereby reducing the fraction of people going bankrupt
In addition, Barack Obama and Joe Biden hope to restore fairness to the tax code. This means that they will adjust tax rates based on an individual’s income. Basically, the higher incomes would be taxed at higher rates and vice versa. This should provide some financial relief for people with lower incomes.
On a global scale, Obama and Biden promise to fight for a trade policy that opens up foreign markets to support American jobs. This will provide many businesses with more money with which to thrive, and it will help “everyday” people to overcome their financial issues.
