Ever since the gun shooting in Virginia Arlee Elementary G.T. students have stepped up their efforts to finish putting together emergency kits for each classroom. For the past two months the G.T. program has been working hard to get all sorts of stuff to make super emergency kits for our school!

The G.T group has been working very hard for a couple of months now to upgrade our emergency kits. We have been writing lots of letters to people all around Montana to get people to see how important it is that we get new supplies.

Mrs. McDermott, our G.T. teacher said, “Our old buckets didn’t have enough supplies. Mrs. Miller our school principal asked the G.T. kids to organize an upgrade of all of our emergency kits.”

Our new safety kits will contain a first-aid kit, a white suit that can be used for many different things, a water bottle for each student, a couple of food snacks, goggles, and a whole lot more. We shall provide one of these safety kits for each class, even the art, music, band rooms.

We are thanking everyone for their generous help in giving donations and we will be taking a field trip to get some of the supplies we still need.

The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation dropped off several boxes of supplies to add to our kits. They even gave us big white suits and orange vests. The Washsington Foundation and St. Joseph Hospital gave us much needed first aid kits.

We also received cash donations from Buckeye Hardwoods and Walt Muralt. Many places gave us gift cards so we can buy the things we need. We have gift cards from Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Home Depot, and Target. Tucker Dry Wall and the Missoula Sheriff’s Association also donated gift cards for us to use.

We received a lot of other donations from local people. Every time we get donations I feel that people are answering our letters and are very generous.
