One thing that has been on the student body’s mind is the price of lunches. Ms. Perez keeps telling us to eat healthy, but the price of healthy food keeps skyrocketing while the price of unhealthy food stays low. This makes no sense.
The average student carries $2.75 for lunch in their pocket. This is barely enough to get a small salad, no drink included. This discourages students from buying salad. Instead, students prefer to buy a $1.75 hamburger so that they are able to afford a cheap drink. Perhaps the price of unhealthy food should be increased. The money earned could be used to reduce the price of the healthy food.
Another reason students don’t get healthy food is because it doesn’t taste very good. One thing the cafeteria should do is make the healthy food taste better like having stir-fry Japanese vegetables or turkey and lettuce sandwiches. How about having minestrone soup or fish and chips?
These ideas would make the school a better place. I hope the lunch ladies are reading this so that they can make their contribution to a better school.
