Recently I entered in a writting contest. The prompt that was given was "Beauty is...." and I thought to my self what is beauty? Some say beauty is the outter appearance of a being, but what about the inner beauty? It seems as if people push aside the most important qualities a person has and focuses only on what the eyes can see. If the blind can tell what true beauty is why can't those who can physically see clearly. Personally I feel beauty is respect and love for ones self. If you have total confidence in who you are and you have full belief in everything you do, you are beautiful. Also beauty is the way you treat those around you. I have met several beautiful people, but due to instinct I judged because their apperance was not pleasing to the eye. When I was a little girl, I always thought that being beautiful meant being light skined and having long curly hair with hazel eyes, but I learned that every one has their own individual version of beauty. My mother always told me that I was beautiful and I never believed her until I realized that I cant be like the girls I saw on television; God made me for a purpose. God made me to be me. Love yourselves people....
