Just recently a brilliant man came to our school to teach us about the stock market game and to help us make smart choices. Dr. Katz was a teacher for 3 years in Mesa, where he taught students about Math and Economics. Now Dr. Katz has a job working for the Arizona Council of Economic Education. He goes around to multiple schools with different levels of classes and teaches them how to make smart choices in an Internet game with real life prices, called the Stock Market Game.

When he goes to a school he teaches students about stocks, bonds, and mutual funds while incorporating fun into it. He also teaches kids about a man named Milton. Milton was born about a hundred or so years ago. He decided to start a caramel company, but eventually figured out the key to keep his company going was to sell his company in stocks. Milton soon got a chocolate company and made millions and millions of dollars. Milton’s last name was Hershey.

Another part on Mr. Katz job is to teach teachers how to teach kids about economics and making smart ideas and choices. His favorite part of the job s the workshops he teaches teachers in. Mr. Katz wants kids all over Arizona to hear his message, he wants to encourage kids to be knowledgeable in all of their decisions and to learn and make habits out of their smart choices. He also wants kids to save their money and work on their personal finance, which includes using their savings wisely, and making smart choices in investing. Overall Mr. Katz is a brilliant man and I hope he can make his message spread all throughout the state to encourage all of the kids to be smart.
