Diamonds in the Desert
By: Madison F.M.

On Saturday the 28 of February, the Fountain Hills Charter School had their yearly Gala. Themed Diamonds in the Desert, it was held at Fort McDowell Adventures, a place out in the desert, away from the highway and people.

Over 130 parents, families, friends and teachers came to this out-of-the-way Gala and had many entertaining conversations. The beautiful weather was perfect for the wonderful sunset. The guests ate at the buffet and had a lot of fun being instructed how to do the line dance. They had DJ entertainment when adoring the mini horse, Tiki, and horse, Mohawk, brought to the Gala by the Feyrer-Melk family. There was a live auction and a silent suction where the class projects and many parent donations were auctioned off.

The solid group of parent volunteers had really enjoyed the Gala they had been working on for hundreds of hours in the past months.
“ The Gala was a huge success thanks to all who attended, helped with classroom projects, donated items, or helped plan the event.
We were able to earn thousands of dollars to help maintain the excellent educational opportunity at the Fountain Hills Charter School” quoted Dr. Steve Feyrer-Melk, PTO.

The Gala was wonderful and turned out better than we ever expected.
