Mrs. Houchen says that the best way to study is with a study buddy, so that you can get someone else’s input on the subject. While Mr. Horning says scheduled and structured time in a comfortable environment will help get a better grade. On the other hand, Mr. Perales’s opinion is to eat, drink water, and ask teachers for exactly what you need to study. They all think that students could improve at working together, reading comprehension, turning in work on time, and thinking before you speak. Mr. Horning says that “If you don’t come to school or turn your work in on time it will build and build like an evil snowball!” Mrs. Houchen also said that for the eighth and upcoming eight graders you should be aware of current politics, watch the news, and read the newspaper. Mr. disrespect anyone. Break dancing is fine as long as it’s not on the floor, conga lines are fine as well until they become too long and “crack the whip” meaning the end of the line falls off. There also isn’t any battle dancing because he doesn’t want anybody disrespecting each other. Mr.Presby hopes for more people to go to the next dance and it will become better and better. AVID is going to organize the next dance which is Halloween themed so get your costumes ready.

History Help

By Miranda Rinehart and

Lilly Greatorex

Each issue of the newspaper there will be an article on the hints and advice from teachers in subject areas that we choose. First up is History. We have taken three excellent history teachers and asked them questions that will hopefully help you excel in their classes .Our article will be featuring comments and answers from Mrs. Houchen, Mr. Horning, and Mr. Perales. All of these teachers believe that it is very important to be involved, such as asking questions and including yourself in class conversations.
