Clover High School is home to six athletes who have signed with colleges that they plan to play for next year. These athletes include Griffin Marsh, Jerry Sanders, Aaron Miller, Andrew Ward, Taylor Patti and Alissa Pantuosco.
Griffin Marsh
Marsh is an offensive lineman who plans to play for North Greenville University this fall. He's been playing since the fourth grade and even aspires to play professionally one day. He gains his inspiration from players like Jeff Saturday and Michael Oher.
Even with his involvement in football, he's been able to maintain a 4.6 GPA and his ranking of 19th in the senior class. Marsh knows that it will be hard to manage his time playing football and studying for college-level classes, but when asked he said, "School comes first."
Taylor Patti
Patti, a defender for the varsity soccer team, will be attending Presbyterian College this fall. She has been playing for 11 years and plans on continuing for many years in the future. She compares her playing to that of Sergio Ramos, and she enjoys watching Lionel Messi play.
Patti makes straight A's and is an active member in her church youth group. She also participates in many clubs around school like Bi-Sci-Chem, Deca, and National Honors Society.
Patti Says, "I plan on putting school first because, ultimately, college is there to give me an education."
Jerry Sanders
Sanders, a defensive lineman, has committed to play football for Newberry college this fall. He has been playing since the fifth grade and wants to continue on to play professionally.
According to Sanders, his plan is to play college ball, play professionally and in the process return to give back to the Clover community.
Sanders maintains a 3.0 GPA and understands that it will be hard, but he has to put school first.
Sanders said picking Newberry College was a no-brainer because he liked the atmosphere and his cousin also plays there. Like he put it, "it's just a good situation."
Aaron Miller
Miller, the Blue Eagles quarterback, is going to attend The Citadel this fall to play football. He's been playing since he was seven years old and even aspires to play professionally one day.
Miller plans to keep his A's and B's throughout college by studying hard and staying focused.
When asked why he chose the citadel, Miller said, "[The Citadel] would best prepare me for the real world."
Alissa Pantuosco
Pantuosco, a mid-fielder on the varsity soccer team, has signed to play for Clemson this fall. She has been playing since she was eight years old and has worked hard to get to the position she is in today.
"I really like Alissa Pantuosco. She is absolute dynamite on the ball," remarked a teammate.
Pantuosco plans to stay motivated and work her hardest to maintain her good grades though out college.
Andrew Ward
Ward plays for the Clover High School golf team, and, come this fall, he will be playing with other golfers at USC Aiken, where he plans to attend college.
He's been playing for 10 years and even would like to play professionally one day. His favorite golfer is Webb Simpson.
Ward has an A average now and plans on keeping it all the way though college. He understands how much work it will take to juggle all of the things on his plate.
Ward chose USC Aiken because of their Division II status and their good reputation.
