Have you every wondered about politics, the candidates, or their names?  There are two candidates who were up for election to become President of the United States of America, Barack Obama and John McCain.  Guess who won the election on November 4th ?   Barack Obama is the new President-elect of the United States.  I guess the people of our country want change in their Government.

As of November 12th , according to The New York Times, Obama had 365 electoral votes and he just needed 270 electoral votes.  McCain had 162 electoral votes.  Missouri’s 11 electoral votes are still undecided because their votes were dead even and need to be recounted. The popular votes for Obama were 66,309,755 and McCain received 57,968,965 votes.  Here in Virginia Obama received our 13 electoral votes because he won 53% of all votes.

It seemed like most people were very interested in this Presidential election no matter who they wanted to win.
