Red Ribbon week was a blast; a poetry contest was held for the students that wanted to enter.  Our winner was Deshunnett Morris. Her homeroom teacher is Mrs. Reitzammer.  Deshunett won a gift card for her winning poem.  Congratulations!

“Drug Free Is The Way To Be”

I see children’s lives saved everyday,

By using drugs the right way.

                             Their diseases kept at bay,

By prescription drugs used the right way.

                             I read about people everyday,

Who’s lives are rained, why? I can’t say.

They abuse drugs and alcohol each day,

Thinking it will make their problems go away,

                             They think make them cool,

But they just end up failing school.

Their families and friends don’t know what to do,

I want use drugs, why would you?

                             Marijuana, cocaine, and tobacco too,

Are just waiting to sink their teeth into you,

Til’ all that’s before death is to pray.

This is why for my family and me,

Drug free is the only way to be.
