1. Q: How did you become principal?

A: I went through extensive interviews with the district office, the superintendent, the staff, the in-place principal, and parents.

2. Q: What do you like most about the job?

A: The kids are the reason I do what I do.

3. Q: What do you collect?

A: Shoes.

4. Q: What is your favorite collection item?

A: Pink shoe plaque.

5. Q: What do you do in an average work day?

A: You’re gonna need a lot of paper for this one. I never have the same day twice. I handle the curriculum, teachers in the classroom, student and staff discipline, safety, maintenance, budget, reprimand, write grants, run meetings, and much more!

6. Q: What is the most important job the principal has to do?

A: To make sure all the decisions are based on what is good for the kids.

7. Q: What did you aspire to be as a young tot?

A: I wanted to be an athlete and play volleyball. I played through high school, college, and was on the Junior Olympic Team.

8. Q: What is your most sacred talent/gift?

A: I am a “stamper.” I make cards.

9. Q: Who is your idol?

A: I am inspired and encouraged by God.

10. Q: What did you do before you became principal?

A: College, played volleyball, nursing degree – quit because I hated being around sick people – went back to school, got a cosmetology degree, owned a shop for five years, called the Hair Raquet, only worked in it for two years, went back to school, got an education degree, then taught 3rd grade, then 5th grade, next I was a P.E. teacher for a year, then I taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade gifted students, then I taught middle school math and language arts, then I became assistant principal for 2 years, then finally, I became principal.

11. Q: Coke or Pepsi?

A: Diet Coke, all the way!
