There are a lot of teachers at ACMS, but as you might have heard, Mrs. Rhyne is one of the most well known. She has accomplished a lot, including earning the position of teacher of the year for the school and the district in 2004. She started the Cougar Vision program and has been involved with it for four years. She was also in charge of the yearbook. In addition, she helped start the first school newspaper with the journalism class.

You might be thinking, “How did such an amazing role model start teaching?” Well, Mrs. Rhyne started her career, believe it or not, as a substitute teacher. She worked full time as a substitute while taking care of her two children until they where old enough to look after themselves. She did this for 5 years, then she got her first full time teaching job. She has been teaching for 21 years. Now her favorite subject to teach is History.
She is very involved with the outdoors, she loves to go hiking. She visits the Poppy Reserve Association. When she is not teaching Mrs. Rhyne is a member of the Desert Interpretive Association, and is a state Park Volunteer.
